Doing Business

Doing Business in Pakistan

Contrary to popular opinion, Pakistan has fared fairly well in the span of the last 4-5 years and its economy has seen a drastic upsurge. From increasing regulatory reforms, to easing tax processes, the Government of Pakistan is keen to invite international investment in the country and has been successful to a great extent.

FDI levels in Pakistan have seen significant growth in the past few years, from USD 320 million in 2000-01 to over USD 3,520 million in 2005-06.  Most of these investments have gone towards smaller projects brought home by Pakistani Expatriates, mainly in the transport, storage, oil and financial services sector.

Pakistan has, over the last 5 years, continuously reformed in almost all sectors of the business circle. From regulation and taxes to import procedures and security. From infrastructure to IT and communications and from quality human resource to sound and efficient banking systems.
